It is a tradition at our house to have "Family Fun Day" every Saturday. Without fail. We talk about it and make plans all week long about what we're going to do. Cupcake can barely stand the excitement, and I admit, I look forward to it quite a bit as well.
Here's what we did today:
* I taught a make up piano lesson. Ok, so that's not so family-oriented, but it was only for an hour. No biggie.
* We took a walk 4 houses down the street to look at a house for sale. It is cute with a capital C, but too small. We have to find a house that has a lot of space if we're going to have 6 or 7 kids in it. Seth doesn't believe me that I actually want that many. But, oh yes, I do. He laughs. I mock him.
* Cupcake and I then went on a walk while Seth ran a couple errands. I am still amazed at how beautiful of a day it was. Sunny and cool, but not cold. I love Fall. On the way home from his errands, Seth found us out walking around the neighborhood and picked us up. We drove the rest of the way to Cupcake's favorite park and spent a good part of the morning. This is where I realized I am old. Yet again. I hopped on the merry-go-round with Cupcake while Seth pushed. After 2 minutes I had to get off and it was everything I could do not to throw up. Seriously. Ugh. Then we went to McDonald's. Where I really wanted to throw up. But I did not.
* We came home, took a short nap, and then I headed out to the coffee shop to meet some friends for a freezer cooking meeting. Can't wait!!! It will be so nice to have my freezer stocked up again with thaw-and-heat meals already prepared.
* Now, as I sit here, I can hear Seth and Cupcake in the kitchen cooking dinner. Oh yeah, my husband bought us some steak. I love me some red meat now and then. After dinner we will more than likely play Uno - Cupcake's favorite game - and maybe some Dominoes.
I love Saturdays. Life is good.
